How this preview handles map and location data
This is a technical demonstration, not a finished consumer navigation service. Do not rely on its routes for emergency or safety-critical driving.
Map and search providers
- MapLibre / OpenFreeMap: Map content is loaded directly from OpenFreeMap's public tile service using OpenStreetMap data. Standard requests expose information such as your IP address to that provider.
- Photon demonstration search: Destination search text is sent to the Photon/Komoot public demo service. Do not search for sensitive or private addresses while testing.
- OSRM demonstration routing: When a route is requested, the two selected coordinates are sent to the public OSRM demo endpoint. This endpoint does not include live traffic or verified road closures.
Optional TomTom traffic-aware routes
When enabled by Super Admin, the navigation route origin and destination are sent from our Cloudflare backend to TomTom for calculation and live traffic estimates. TomTom may process coordinates outside Malaysia. The API key is stored encrypted in our Cloudflare database, protected by a separate Cloudflare secret. Traffic-aware requests are counted against our internal usage ceilings; these are not TomTom account-wide quotas.
GPS position
GPS works only after you grant location permission in your browser. This preview uses your position in the browser to show you on the map and provide navigation guidance while the page is active. It does not continuously upload or retain GPS trails for traffic crowdsourcing.
Community road reports
If you voluntarily submit a road report, its category, description, selected coordinates and submission time are stored in this project's Cloudflare D1 database. Reports remain pending until an administrator reviews them. Only verified reports are displayed publicly. Reviewed reports are scheduled for deletion after 90 days; pending reports require administrator review.
Administration and costs
The Super Admin dashboard uses a secure session cookie. Request counters and budget warning thresholds are stored in D1. They are app-level estimates, not your Cloudflare invoice or an external provider's account-wide billing record.
Data location
The Cloudflare D1 database was provisioned in the Asia-Pacific region, not verified as Malaysia-only. Map, search and routing providers may operate outside Malaysia. A Malaysia-hosted routing and location-data service will be required before making Malaysian-only data-processing claims.
